Increasing the Bootup Speed of Windows 7

When I used to work on Windows 7, sometimes it took really a long time to boot up. After some research(at that time), I found some hacks to reduce the boot time. Today, I’m gonna share those hacks & some of mine too.

Decreasing The Startup Timeout.

  1. Press Windows Logo Key + R to open Run Window.

  2. Type msconfig and press Enter. The System Configuration window appears.

  3. Go to Boot tab & reduce the timeout seconds & click OK.

Remove Unwanted Startup Programs.

  1. Press Windows Logo Key + R to open Run Window.

  2. Type msconfig and press Enter. The System Configuration window appears.

  3. Go to Startup tab & uncheck the programs that you don’t require & click OK.

Defragmentation of Hard Drive.

  1. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > System Tools > Disk Defragment.

  2. Select the Disks & Defragment them.

After following these steps, restart your pc & it should be faster than before.
